The installation MEANING in the shape of a Mobius Strip is an object created by combining a double-sided strip of fabric on the entire length of which - almost 20 meters - a collective portrait of Ergo Hestia volunteers was embroidered. The strip of linen on which the embroidery is made is stretched on a steel structure connected by the shorter sides, after being rotated 180 degrees. In this way, both sides of the strip of fabric - and therefore the embroidery - became one, endless surface. The embroidery featured over seventy people who initiated and/or took an active part in volunteer activities over the last dozen or so years.
The concept of the Meaning Ribbon was created by me at the invitation of Foundation of Hestia's Artistic Journey. I implemented the go project in cooperation with many talented people. One of them is Zuzanna Karpińska who cooperated with me on the embroidery.
Many thanks and love for you, Zuza!
The conceptual and executive design of the structure was created by Paweł Paciorek. Structure prototyping: Marcin Papiernik and Jakub Mierzejewski. Responsible for prototyping the fabrics and their final production are: Sylwia Szefer and Arnold Szefer. The installation structure was made by FERWOR.
The installation can be viewed at the headquarters of ERGO Hestia in Sopot.
